Named after John Ruskin's appreciation of nearby St. Martin's Church, Ruskins View is a private gated development on an old service station site. Controlled entry was agreed because there is a primary school opposite, and parking problems would have otherwise been inevitable.
Initially, parking took place in the square, as well as in the rear courts. However, although this appeared to work (see aerial photo), it created tension between residents. The management company subsequently introduced controls, leaving the square less cluttered.
A public car park less than 50 metres away offers an alternative for visitors.
Neighbour tensions were apparent in the survey results, hence management company controls have been introduced. Adequate parking is available in the rear courts.
